Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a volume tweezer and an isolation tweezer?
An isolation tweezer is held in the non-dominant hand and is used to separate one natural lash from the surrounding lashes so that a single extension can be applied cleanly. A volume tweezer is held in the dominant hand and is used to pick up, fan, and place handmade or premade volume fans onto the natural lash. Most lash artists use both at the same time during a volume set.
What are nano fibre tip tweezers and do I need them?
Nano fibre tip tweezers have a precision-textured grip surface on the inner blade that prevents lash fibres from slipping during fan creation. If you are performing handmade Russian Volume or Mega Volume sets and struggling with fans slipping or falling apart, nano fibre tip tweezers are a significant upgrade. Our Black Beauty 1 and Black Beauty 2 both feature this technology.
What is the difference between Black Beauty 1 and Black Beauty 2?
Both use the same nano fibre tip technology and Japanese stainless steel. The Black Beauty 1 has a longer 10mm L-shaped foot suited to artists who prefer more reach and leverage during fan creation. The Black Beauty 2 has a shorter 5mm foot suited to artists who prefer a more compact, controlled grip.
How do I clean and sterilise my tweezers between clients?
We recommend using our Tweezer and Tile UV Steriliser, which provides salon-grade sanitisation without the need for harsh chemical solutions that can damage tweezer coatings and tip alignment over time.
Are your tweezers suitable for beginners?
Yes. For beginners we recommend starting with Julia's Fave Classic Tweezer for pickup and The Swan for isolation. As you progress into volume lashing, the 90 Degree Russian Volume Tweezer is a great entry point before moving to the nano fibre tip Black Beauty range.
