How much could you save?
Salon lash refills cost around $125 every 2 weeks. That's about $3,250 a year. One Lash Link kit gives you 7 full sets, around 6 weeks of lashes, for $149. That's about $21 a set, and refill ribbons are $27 after that.
Made by a lash artist, not a factory. These are not the cheap supermarket clusters. I've been lashing since 2010, and I tested pre-glued segments before making Lash Link. The bond gave up far too fast, so every kit uses a separate bond and seal that actually holds.
The best part? You're never stuck with one look. Cut your ribbons your way for a natural set on Monday and a cat eye on Saturday, all in about 10 minutes, without a salon booking.
MIX AND MATCH YOUR LASH LOOK: CAT EYE, DOLL EYE AND MORE
NYX Cat Eye
8, 10, 12, 14mm. Short at the inner corner, building to a long, full outer corner.
NYX Doll Eye
8, 10, 12, 10, 8mm. Longest above the pupil, shorter at both corners.
Hera Doll Eye
The same round, open shape in our softest, most natural style.
Iris Cat Eye
Wispy spikes, short through the middle and fanning out at the outer corner.
HOW TO APPLY DIY LASH EXTENSIONS IN 4 STEPS
Your first set takes around 20 minutes. After a few goes, it takes about 8.
Step 1: Cut and lay out
Cleanse your lids so they're oil free. Cut your ribbon into 5 to 7 segments per eye and lay them out on the silicone styling pad.
Step 2: Apply the bonder
Swipe a thin layer of Step 1 along the underside of your lash line, keeping it off the tips. Let it dry for 30 to 40 seconds.
Step 3: Apply each segment
Place each segment underneath your natural lashes, working from the inner corner out.
Step 4: Squeeze, seal and re-lock
Squeeze the bonds together with the applicator, then add Step 2 sealer and press again to lock them in.

💜 Less Is a Whole Lot More
Our bonder (STEP 1) like that last slice of pizza 🍕 – precious. A small dab ensures your lashes stay on point without turning into a gluey mess. Remember, when it comes to bond, think "minimalist chic."
💜Clean Start, Stellar Finish
Jumpstart your lash art on a blank canvas 📋. Ensuring your lashes and lids are clean and dry sets the stage for a masterpiece. It's all about that base, baby.
💜Snug as a Lash in a Rug
Get those lash segments to cozy up close, slightly overlapping each other. It’s like they’re spooning,🛌 ensuring a secure fit and an all-day hold.
💜Focus on the Roots
Zero in on the lash roots like they're the VIP section of a club. No need to coat all the way to the tips – unless you're going for the spider-leg chic 🕷️ (we vote no on that).
Keep It Tight💜
Think of your bond and sealant like the freshest avocados 🥑 – exposure to air is the enemy. Keep 'em sealed tight to avoid the dreaded dry-out.
The Under-Lash Technique: See the Light💜
Embrace the Under-Lash Method for clarity and precision in your application. It’s all about that unobstructed view, 👀 making for a seamless lash application experience. BUT for the ULTIMATE HOLD, feel free to apply some from the top as well. The sandwich the natural lashes together babes.
💜Relock and Roll Each Morning
Adopt a morning relock ritual with a dab of sealant at the roots. A quick squeeze with your Lash Applicator, and you’re reinforcing your lashes’ staying power 💪🏽 – it’s like a mini lash spa session.
💜Avoid Sticky Situations
If your applicator is sticking more than helping, it’s time for a quick cleanse. 🧼 A wipe-down or a bit of sealant on the applicator keeps things smooth between you and your lashes.
💜First-Timers, Take Your Time
It took me 20 mins when I applied my first set. Now it takes me 7-8 mins. If you’re new to the DIY lash scene, don’t rush the brush. Allow yourself a leisurely 10+ minutes ⏱️ to get the hang of it. Practice makes perfect, and soon you’ll be speeding through your lash routine.
💜 Moisture Is Not a Fan
Keep those lashes dry and fly for the first 48 hours. Steamy showers, 💦 sweaty jam sessions, or just the mist from your tea? Not today. Give your lashes the space to set the stage.
💜Oil-Free Zone
Imagine oil-based products are like that one song that just doesn't vibe with your playlist. 🛢️ Keep 'em away from your eye area to maintain the lash glue integrity. Foundations, creams, even those sneaky oil-based eyeliners – steer clear.
💜Mascara? You’re Joking, Right?
Your Lash Link extensions have got you covered, so forget the mascara. 🚫 Embrace the freedom and rock your natural lash look (but, like, enhanced).
💜Face Down? No Way!
Protect your lash investment. Sleeping on your back is the new chic. 💤 Give your lashes room to breathe, not squish.
Keep It Tight💜
Think of your bond and sealant like the freshest avocados 🥑 – exposure to air is the enemy. Keep 'em sealed tight to avoid the dreaded dry-out.
💜Makeup Moves
When you’re painting 🎨 the masterpiece that is your face, tread lightly around those eye masterpieces. Gentle does it.
💜Hands Off the Merch
Treat those lashes like the delicate front row of a concert – look, don’t touch. 🖖🏼 Avoid any roughhousing to keep them in headline condition.
💜Shower Smart
Water’s cool, but direct hits from the shower head? 🛀🏻 Not so much. Keep it low pressure, and remember, patting dry is way gentier than rubbing.
💜Relock Ritual
Kick off your day with the Relock Method – 🔒 a little dab of sealant at the roots, a gentle squeeze, and you’re set to rock those lashes for even longer.
LASH LINK FAQS: DIY LASH EXTENSIONS AT HOME
What is Lash Link?
Lash Link is a DIY lash extension kit you use at home. You cut lightweight lash ribbons into small segments and place them underneath your natural lashes with a separate bond and seal. A set takes about 10 minutes once you've had some practice and lasts 5 to 7 days.
The Lash Link DIY kit has everything you need: 3 ribbons, the bond and seal, remover, applicator, scissors, a silicone styling pad and a travel case with a mirror.
How long do DIY lash extensions last?
A Lash Link set lasts 5 to 7 days. How long yours last comes down to three things: a thin layer of bond (too much makes them slip), keeping oil away from your eyes, and not sleeping face down.
To get an extra day or two, do the relock each morning. Dab a little Step 2, Seal It from the Bonder/Sealer Duo at the roots and give them a gentle squeeze.
Which Lash Link style and length should I choose?
Take the 1 minute lash quiz. It asks about your eyes and the look you love, then gives you your style, your length and your own lash map.
Quick guide: Hera is light and natural, NYX is full and dark, and Iris is spiky and wispy. For a first kit, start with Short (8, 10, 12mm). Go Medium (10, 12, 14mm) or Long (12, 14, 16mm) if your natural lashes are longer or you want more drama.
Are DIY lash extensions cheaper than salon extensions?
Yes, by a long way. Salon refills cost around $125 every 2 weeks, which is about $3,250 a year. The Lash Link DIY kit is $149 for 7 sets, and refill ribbons are $27 after that.
Salon extensions do last longer per appointment, and some people love being looked after. Lash Link is for when you want the look without the booking and the bill.
How is Lash Link different from cheap lash clusters?
Lash Link is made by a lash artist. I've been lashing since 2010. The ribbons are lightweight, the segments go on underneath your natural lashes, and every kit uses a separate bond and seal.
I tested pre-glued segments before making Lash Link. The bond gave up far too fast, so we don't sell them.
How long does it take to apply Lash Link lashes?
About 8 to 10 minutes once you've practised. Your first set will take around 20 minutes. That's how long my first one took, and I've been a lash artist for years. Watch the 4 step videos on this page before you start.
Do DIY lash extensions damage your natural lashes?
No, not when you apply them as shown and take them off properly. Lash Link segments are featherlight and spread across several natural lashes, so each lash carries less weight than with many salon extensions.
Two things to avoid: wearing a set for 2 weeks straight, and pulling them off dry. Use the Lash Link Remover for a couple of minutes to soften the bond, then slide them off.
Can I use Lash Link if I have sensitive eyes?
Usually, yes. Our products don't contain cyanoacrylate, formaldehyde or latex, which are behind a lot of lash glue reactions.
Eyes can still be sensitive to anything, so do a patch test before your first full set.
Do Lash Link lashes hurt?
No, they shouldn't hurt when they're applied correctly.
If you've worn a set for more than 5 to 7 days and they start to pull, it's time for a fresh set. Your natural lashes grow at different speeds, and a fast-growing lash can tug on the ones next to it.
How do I remove DIY lash extensions?
Apply the Lash Link Remover along the bonds, wait a couple of minutes for it to soften, then slide the segments off. Never pull them off dry, because that's how natural lashes get lost.
Afterwards, wash your lashes with the Lash Tribe Foaming Cleanser to clear any leftover oil, and wipe away what's left with the Lash Link Cleansing Sponge. It's machine washable and hangs in the shower to dry.
Are Lash Link lashes waterproof?
They're water resistant and sweat proof, but keep them dry for the first 48 hours. In the shower, keep your face out of the direct stream.
If they do get very wet, relock them with a dab of Seal It from the Bonder/Sealer Duo and squeeze them together again. I spent a whole day in the water at Wet'n'Wild, did exactly that the next morning, and they were fine.
How do I look after my Lash Link lashes?
- Keep them dry for 48 hours. No steamy showers, saunas or sweaty workouts straight away.
- Keep oil away from your eyes. Oil-based creams, foundations and eye make-up break down the bond.
- Skip the mascara. You won't need it.
- Sleep on your back so you don't squash them.
- Hands off. Rubbing and pulling loosens them.
- Wash them gently with the Lash Tribe Foaming Cleanser, then pat dry and brush them straight. Take off the rest of your make-up gently with the Lash Link Cleansing Sponge, keeping away from the lash line.
- Relock in the morning with a dab of Seal It at the roots.
If a segment lifts, put it back with a little bond and your applicator tweezer.
Why didn't my Lash Link lashes last 5 to 7 days?
Most of the time it's too much bond. Use a thin layer at the roots of your natural lashes only, not up the length like mascara, and let it go tacky for 30 to 40 seconds before you place each segment.
Other common reasons: oil from skin or products, sleeping face down, touching them, and humidity. Overlap your segments slightly and give each one a firm squeeze with the applicator tweezer so it grips your natural lashes.
Can I cut and customise my Lash Link lashes?
Yes, that's the whole idea. Cut each ribbon into segments and place them however you like.
- Cat eye: short at the inner corner, building to the longest at the outer corner. Double up at the ends for more drama.
- Doll eye: longest above your pupil, shorter at both corners.
- Subtle: use just 2 or 3 segments on the outer half.
- Mix it up: combine styles, like NYX for volume with a few Iris spikes.
You can trim the width of a segment to fit your eye, but don't cut the lash length. The 1 minute lash quiz gives you a lash map made for your eye shape.
My applicator keeps sticking to my lashes. What can I do?
Wipe the tips with a make-up remover wipe. You can also put a little Seal It on the inside of the blades before you press the segments together.
